Ubirr Combo Tour

Kakadu comes alive in the wet and produces some magnificent spectacles & experiences for visitors.

This is the time of the year our wetlands flood and road access to the Ubirr Rock Art Complex, an icon of the World Heritage-listed National Park, is cut off.
Kakadu Cultural Tours operates the Ubirr Combo Tour that over comes this access issue.

The Ubirr Combo Tour collects clients in customised 4WD vehicles from Jabiru based accommodation and heads out to the East Alligator River or Manbiyarra district of the Park through the flooded Magela Creek.
There are two itinerary variations and depending on the environmental conditions on the day of travel the itinerary could be either of the following:

a. We collect from Jabiru and meet the Guluyambi boats at the Magela Crossing then after cruising through the flooded wet land clients will connect with the KCT vehicle on the other side and head to Ubirr and return to Jabiru.

b. We collect from Jabiru, drive through the Magela Creek and head straight to Ubirr. After viewing Ubirr the tour connects with a Guluyambi boat cruise on the East Alligator River. After cruise return to Jabiru.

Conditions permitting in 2025 we plan to operate the Ubirr Combo Tour Wednesday to Sunday from early March until & including the Easter weekend.
We are completely at the mercy of the environment to operate this product. As we require sufficient water levels in the Magela Creek. For this reason, we don’t generally sell the tour well in advance. Seats are limited as we only have 1 departure per day. Tentative bookings for the Ubirr Combo Tour are welcome and can be made on the condition the client’s firm up and pay for their bookings 7 days out from the date of travel.
